Cape Cod Engagement :: Amanda + Neal

I recently took Amanda and Neal’s Cape Cod engagement photos in downtown Sandwich and the boardwalk. I’ve known Amanda for a few year’s….some of you may recognize her especially if you have ever been to the Ridge Club. It was great getting to know Neal who was a great sport in letting Amanda and I drag him all around town doing photos. I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding later this month at Bosari Gallery in Dennis.

Bahamas Wedding :: Pelican Bay Hotel :: Kristie + Michael

So I started off the 2012 destination wedding season much the same way I ended 2011… with a Bahamas wedding in the tropics. I actually met Kristie and Mike at Stephanie and Michael’s Bahamas wedding last October. It was great to be back working with the talented Marva Munroe and the wonderful people of Freeport, Bahamas at the fabulous Pelican Bay Hotel at Lucaya. After some brief rain on friday, family and friends gathered on the beach under a full moon for a bonfire bbq rehearsal dinner complete with conch fritter appetizers and of course Sands beer.

We had perfect weather for their beach ceremony on Saturday. Stephanie’s dad Herb performed the ceremony before everyone left for the reception back at the Pelican Bay.

Cape Cod Senior Portraits 2012

Although yesterday was only the first day of spring it is feeling a lot like summer around Cape Cod. Here is a look back at the summer of 2011 when this year’s Seniors has their portraits taken. Congratulations you will be graduating soon! I’m sure they would be able to tell you exactly how many more days of school they have left. Don’t forget to order your grad announcements and thank you cards or extra wallets!

We are currently looking for some spokesmodels to appear in this spring’s advertisements for next year’s class too. Know any? If you do and they mention your name when they apply you could be eligible for a movie and a burger at our new neighbor Oscar’s. How cool is that?

Are you excited? Kelli and I are! It’s that time of year again for college and non college hoops fans to get excited by picking their brackets joining office pools etc. I know, I know not that big in the Boston area but in the rest of the country it’s BIG! Kelli is an alum of the University of Kansas (a #2 seed this year) and gets out the old KU flag every spring to hang outside.

Wow what a fantastic Cape Cod wedding show last weekend at the New Seabury Country Club. Amy and I got to meet with lots of couples, friends and families who braved sub-freezing temperatures to come see the latest fashions, flowers and tablescapes. Congratulations to Lauren T, Melissa M, and Samantha L who all just won engagement sessions from yesterdays bridal show! Lauren has already called us to set up her session! Cape Cod Wedding Show :: Cape Cod Photo Booth

Well I have had a extremely busy January and was excited to get back in the grove of things this month. I traveled to 3 different conventions in the month of January going to wedding and portrait conventions all around the country. One of the coolest things I saw in my journeys was a photo booth at Mystic seminars. I loved it so much I bought one! We will be offering this new service to our Cape Cod weddings, high schools and partiers this spring and summer! Unlike traditional photo booths this system allows for you to incorporate more than a few friends but without really taking up that much more room. Key West Wedding :: Marriott Beachside Hotel :: Phyllis + Jeremy

The last time I was photographing a wedding in Key West was 10.10.10 with Emily & Eric. Well I made it back this year for 11.11.11 maybe I should go ahead and book 12.12.12 hahaha! Phyllis and Jeremy won our Facebook contest early this year for their Key West wedding which worked out great since they where getting married the same week my family was on vacation there. One of my favorite spots in the world for a wedding is Key West. My couple was actually from New England and met while working the wedding scene themselves in Newport, RI. They had a simple outdoor ceremony at sunset overlooking tropical Key West waters in front of close family and friends. After the party and some Key Lime pie we cruised down to Duval street where there was a huge street festival for the power boat racers which where in town that weekend. So much fun and of course we had to end it with a shot at the Southernmost point in the USA!

So after a few weeks of 2nd shooting for my friend Dave Hansen here on Cape Cod and Scituate it was off to Florida for a couple of destination weddings. Did I mention I don’t really like to sit around too much. First up was Stephanie and Michael’s Grand Bahama wedding at the wonderful Pelican Bay Hotel. The rehearsal dinner was an island style bbq complete with conch fritters and Sands beer. We were a bit nervous about the weather on the day of the wedding but the rain held off at least long enough for us to get the majority of the images taken. Marva Munroe was one of the best planners I have worked with. If you are planning a destination wedding to this tropical location differently give her a ring. Congratulations to Stephanie + Michael I’ll see you in April!

My last Cape Cod wedding of the 2011 season was an absolute pleasure to photograph. It had been year’s since I had been at the Captain Linnell house in Orleans. With it’s proximity of Skaket Beach and it’s wonderful lush gardens makes this 1800′s sea captain’s mansion an ideal location for a wedding reception. Congratulations to Katie and Chris!! Chris thank you for your service to our country you will be in our thoughts and prayers this holiday season especially.
